If you have been experimenting with HDR, chance are you have used either Photomatix or Photoshop’s Merge to HDR Pro. Either way, the interface isn’t very friendly. Best [...] Photomatix Pro is one of the most estabilished stand-alone HDR programs. Version 3.2 not only handles Canon 7D Raw Files but it is also available in 64-bit! Photomatix 3.2 does a wonderful job at processing Canon 7D Raw Files. Start the process by clicking the Generate HDR [...] One of the many enhancements in Photoshop CS5 was to the Merge to HDR Pro. Adobe claims that it now rivals the stand-alone HDR programs. The above image was generated through Photoshop CS5’s HDR merge using 3 Canon 7D Raw images. If you wanted to skip [...] If you have the Canon 7D and plan on creating some HDR images, you should plan on shooting in RAW+JPG mode. The 7D is fast enough not to slow you down even with bracketing. The problem is not all programs fully support the 7D’s Raw format. The above set of bracketed images (shot in 7D Raw) were used in all programs. Based on the tests in Part 1 and here in Part 2, I would recommend only FDR Tools. After spending time with all three programs, FDR Tools had the best options and produced the best final images. |
